Kambria Grace Fairbanks

Well, my little girl Kambria Grace Fairbanks was born on Monday August 21, 2006 at 7:11 pm and weighted 7 lbs 10 oz, 19 1/2 inches long. She is wonderful and just a joy to have in our lives. I was in labor for 18 hours and then had an emergency c-section due to my temperature rising and her heart rate rising. I was FREAKED out to have this operation but after Don, Bryan's dad, and Bryan gave me a blessing it turned out for the better; she had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. But she is gorgeous according to everyone that sees her.

WE are so blessed with how everything has worked out. We have moved out of our apartment and moved into Bryan's parents basement for 2 months until we move to Iowa so Bryan can go to Chiropractor school. My parents are a little jealous that they get to see Kambria so much, but I think I will be spending a week with them here soon to help with that jealousy.

Well it is about 11am and I am still in my robe. I should sign off for now, but hopefully since I am off work and being a stay at home mom, I will keep up on this blog a little bit better.

Here are some pictures of my gorgeous baby girl!

Off to Canada

Well it has been a while again since I have written. I have given my last day of work notice of August 11, in hopes that we can move into Don and MaryEllen's basement BEFORE the baby comes. Then I have a week to clean and move and then my due date. WE will see if all that goes smoothly. I think work will stress me out until then seeing that they still don't know who will take over my job and so I am training RANDOM people who don't want to do my job. Well that is their problem I guess not mine.

We are flying up to Calgary, Alberta, Canada tomorrow at 8 am in the morning to attend Glenna Fairbanks' funeral. She died on Friday July 21 at 10:20 pm. It is still a little hard to imagine she is no longer with us, but I am sure it will hit us when we get there. My doctor has given me permission to fly, even though I am 35+ weeks along. I do not have any labor signs at all, and we will only be there for 2 days. So things should be alright. The baby is kicking more than ever and it is hard for me to sleep. I wake up SEVERAL times a night tossing and turning, with Bryan not being much help. His back has been hurting as well and so he is in pain all night. I think it has something to do with the fact that our bed is 10+ years old...But we cant afford a new bed right now. We will have to wait until Iowa and see if we can afford it then.

But one thing is for sure...That prayers ARE answered. Insurance was going to not cover everything if I did not return to work for 30 days after I took FMLA...But it worked out that Brayn added me to his insurance and then I cancelled mine and so I do not have to return to work in order for them to still pay the baby bills. I am so glad for this!!!!!'

well I should get back to work. I hopefully can post some pictures of Canada when we get back!

A feeling...

Well yesterday was the 4th of July, which by the way is Bryan's half birthday! We went down to Denver and spent the time with my family. At 9 am the boys, Dad, Bryan, Nelson, and Colin went to Idaho Springs and shot guns at a firing range. Believe me, Bryan was not too thrilled with the idea and then on top of that Ken Abromovitz was there and Bryan did not care for him. But according to my dad, Bryan was actually pretty good with the hand guns! Which certainly surprised me! But Bryan said that he will not own a gun unless the prophet tells him to...Which is perfectly fine with me.

While the guys were out shooting, the girls, Mom, me, Leah, Tess, and hayden... decided that we would stay home and get lunches ready and sew. Leah had never sewn anything by instruction before and she had boughten a pattern and some material to sew Hayden a romper and mom had bought a pattern to sew a blessing dress. So I started to sew the blessing dress. I think it will turn out quite nice. It has ribbon on it that I had left over from using on my wedding invitations. Go figure! I think it will be a nice coincidence.

At 1pm we went and met the boys at Idaho springs and drove to Georgetown ate lunch and went on the Georgetown railroad loop. It was fun to see how Hayden reacted tot eh loud whistle and Bryan, it being his first time on a train, to see how excited he was also.

Well that is all the time I have to write. Till next time

Good news~

So yesterday we went to the doctor in Denver and had GREAT news. It looks like I get to deliver in Fort Collins and that about two weeks after the baby is born that she will just have to have her ureter stretched!!!! We can handle that! I was so thrilled with that news. It looks like the left kidney is perfectly normal, but the right one is still dilated. So that is why the stretching needs to be done.

Now all of this is pertinent that things go well with the delivery, but the way I have been feeling, I think things will be fine. I was so thrilled to hear that I can deliver in Fort Collins!!! It made my whole day.

And then on top of that we went to the temple and had a wonderful time. Then we got Bryan's car looked at, eventually fixed it with my fathers help and had a wonderful time chatting at dinner with Leah and Dre. I got to play with my nephew Hayden and that was fun since I could play with him this time instead of being sick...

Well that is all for now.

Slow moving day....

I thought I would take a minute and waste some time here at work...I do not feel like working today at all and am in no rush to get on the phones. My boss basically has told me that sorry she does not make the pay rate decisions and that I am not worth a pay raise...well then they are not worth working hard for. That is the attitude I have today.

I went to the dietician yesterday and she thinks things are going good. I just need to get a half hour of exercise in each day and she wants me to do it at lunch...but I can not otherwise I will be SO hot and sweaty...and then have to come back to work. So I talked to Bryan about it and we are going to get up int he mornings and go for a walk toegther. We will see how long Bryan continues to get up with me.

Wish us luck with all the unknowns!

Patience

I thought I would write something really fast... I now have gestational diabetes and I'm learning how to eat all the time and eat healthy things. I have to test my blood sugar 4 times a day and check my urine in the morning to make sure I do not have keytones that are harmful to the baby. We are still having to go to Denver fro more ultra sounds to watch the dilated kidneys and make sure things are going well for the baby. It is looking more and more like I will have to deliver in Denver and that there will be a little bit of a complication once the baby is born...Hopefully not too invasive of a surgery and hopefully there is not too much time spent in the hospital. Bryan and I are realizing that growing up is not so much fun all the time and that there are a lot of things that are unknown in our lives right now with the baby, housing, jobs, insurance and moving out to Iowa and his college... But we are trying to have faith in the Lord and PATIENCE...The key word is trying!

Appointment at Swedish

So yesterday I had an appointment down in Denver at Swedish Hospital since there were some concerns my doctors in Fort Collins had.

I found out that we are having a girl, but that she has some complications...I don't have much time to write now...But I thought I would start my thoughts. I am not made at the situation...Just kind of questioning why. I will finish this thought tomorrow.

Our long Trip

Well today is the first day back to work since our nice long trip to Iowa! It is a 12 hour drive one way from Fort Collins to Davenport! It is not so bad if you can sleep most of the way, but since I am grown now and not a kid with parents driving I figured I needed to let Bryan have some time to rest too. So I drove part of the way and Bryan drove part of the way too. But I think in the end, Bryan ended up driving more than me! What a sweet guy!

So Iowa is ok...Well I think is it alright. Palmer College is DEFINITELY small. It only has 1500 total students versus CSU's campus of 30,000 students. SO it will be different. But I think it will be a good thing fro Bryan to have smaller class sizes.

The quad cities which is comprised of Davenport, IA, Bettendorf, IA, Moline, IL, and Rock Island, IL is quite the different "city" than Fort Collins also. There are some nice areas, but also some very RUN down areas too. We looked at some real estate to buy our first home, but I do not know how that is all going to happen. I am worried about the financial part, but Bryan seems to think we will get through it and so I have convinced myself that people everywhere go into debt and this is a REALLY good reason to go into debt...Bryan will have something to show for it in the end!

Well the weekend is here already and I should post this! I will try to get more down later!

sympathy for each other

Well yesterday was presidents day and we had the day off because it was a bank holiday! The only thing is is that Bryan was sick all day throwing up and trying to sleep. So I went to Sam's club for some groceries and came home to try and take care of my poor husband. I felt bad that there was nothing I could do for him. I also felt bad that it was a day off and we could have done something because I actually had energy for once and then he goes and gets sick!

But I think it was a good lesson for both of us becasue now Bryan knows how I feel when I do not have energy and now I know how Bryan feels when he is bored and feels like he can't do anything but watch TV!!! It was a good lesson for both of us.

This morning Bryan drove himself to the doctors and he ended up just having an upset stomach and needs rest the doctor says. We thought it might be something with his appendix because he was in so much pain. Thank goodness it had nothing to do with that. Basically it was just an inflamed stomach due to something Bryan ate and it should be fine tomorrow. We will have to see. That is the excitment of my life right now!

we can finally tell!!!

So yesterday was the doctors appointment, and know we can officially tell people I am pregnant! It is so exciting! Poeple at Bryan's work at boardwalk are so excited for him and here at Customer Service I have had the same type of response. People are SO thrilled and excited and the word is spreading FAST!!! But I enjoy the experince of having everyone excited for us. I can not imagine working somewhere where poeple are not excited for you. I dont think that would be a fun experience.

SOI am GLAD that I work in an atmosphere the is condusive to having a family. The guys are even excited for us!

so here is the picture
So we will now begin to "experience" the rush of Congrats!!!
WE ARE EXCITED!

A Bad day at the office

I dont have much time to write, but I just wanted to say that if I have another person blame me for something or say that I am responsible for someone elses' mistake I WILL SCREAM!!!

I am trying to see if this is going to work for me to post things! I think this idea is great for journal entries and to let my extended family see pictures! I love it!
