just a funny picture

Just thought I would post a picture of my surprised face... I didn't think it was such a bad photo...

And I should give an update and say that Bryan is doing well with his residency search...he is currently in Casper, WY. He went up there to see a guy and ended up having the guy pay for a hotel to stay the night so Bryan could meet the other resident that is there now and the other practitioners. He is on his way home tonight...keep those good thoughts for us. I think this would be a great opportunity for Bryan!!!!

Kambria potty training...and other things

I have to admit that I thought potty training Kambria was going to be difficult and that I would be cleaning up a lot of "messes." Well except for the occasional wet panties...she is doing EXCELLENT!!! We have been very fortunate. We went shopping yesterday and she was dry the entire 3 hour stretch!!! On the car ride home she said, "I have to go potty," but since we were just in the car I said she had to hold it and she did!!! It was AMAZING to me. She has only been potty training for 1 1/2 weeks!!! She is even going #2 too!!! The past 2 days we have not had a wet or messy diaper!!! It took sitting with her for an hour for her to go the first time, but after that it is about 15 minutes of singing songs and reading books and then she goes. It is great!!! Like I have said before...I am spoiled!...well in some areas....

Kambria is not behaving so well in nursery...it is from 12:30 to 2pm so it is right during lunch and her regular nap time. She is very active as it is, but this time is her worst!!! So the nursery leader very kindly asked what we do when she gets aggressive...I didn't really know what to say...I count to 3 and then spank her? Well things have been going better because I am paying attention what I do when she is being naughty...And on top of that Kambria is slowly learning what it means to share and take turns. She just has not had enough play dates to really spend time knowing "friends" and really learning. But today she had a friend come over while MaryEllen had a presidency meeting and this way I could regulate how she played. She had a couple of hard times when I had to remove her from the situation and put her in time out, which is her bedroom, but it seemed to work and she did fairly good. Maybe I should do more play dates??? well maybe once we have our own place... we will see. But all in all I am spoiled to have a very smart, energetic and fun loving little girl!! I love my Kambria!!!

We got some new play dough at the store the other day and she is learning how to use scissors to cut the play dough...I just hope she does not find real scissors!!! But I guess it is quite the skill to learn and Kambria is doing great at it!!! I am blessed!!!

Fall Pictures

These are just some more fun pictures of fall. I can not believe that snow is on its way!!! I definitely am NOT ready for it to be winter. I like fall!!!

my neice Madalyn

Bryan's sister Lisa and her family came and spent the weekend with us here in Fort Collins. It was fun to have them here and to let Kambria and Madalyn "play" together. They are still both learning how to share and how to really play, but on the whole I think they enjoy their time together. Grandma even made play dough for something fun for them to do.

The only way they would even look at me to take a picture is to have them watching the tigger movie...but still it turned out OK!!!

October birthdays

My birthday celebration was great! I woke up to a husband cooking me coffee cake (or as we call it breakfast cake) and also a cherry butter braid. It was wonderful. Then I spent the day doing NOTHING!!! which is exactly what I wanted! Then I celebrated by having lasagna and caesar salad and french bread with a chocolate zucchini cake. I got some money for some new garments and a workout video. I needed a new one to change up my working out. I am on a roll...5 weeks and going strong, but I dint want to jinx myself so that is all I will say.

Then I also got to celebrate my birthday with my brother and nephew Hayden on Saturday. I got a neat felt board from my brother and sister-in-law and a hair straightener. We gave nelson "iron man" and Hayden got a new bi-cycle. We had a pinata thanks to Leah! It was a lot of fun and I am glad that we still live close enough to do things like this. One day they may not be possible due to geographic locations or other reasons. I am grateful for the time we get to spend together!!!

I also have to say how grateful I am for cameras!!! It has been so fun to watch Weston and Kambria grow. It is quite amazing how much even a day can make!!!
Kambria riding the horsey which turned out to be broken due tot he metal frame being old and giving way when Kambria sat on it ;o( oh well...The pinata!!!

Hayden and Kambria eating their pinata goodies trying to say cheese for the camera!

This is one of my most recent FAVORITE pictures!! I think it is just so cute. My twin nieces Ella on the left and Chloe on the right of Kambria and my mother! I love it!!!

It is FALL!!!!

Kambria took this picture of the leaves! Not bad hey?
Kambria LOVES to be outside and so Bryan and her decided to rake up the leaves in the back yard and have some fun with them. Kambria had a blast! I can not believe it is fall already and that the leaves are falling off the trees! Another year gone by. But good things have happened in that year and I hope that this next year will bring even more good from the past year! Enjoy the pictures!!!

This one is GREAT!!! this is Kambria trying to lay down in the leaves...she did not like it and quickly tried to stand up!

Weston's 2 month checkup

So we went to Denver to go to Weston's 2 month checkup. We still have not transferred our medical "stuff" up here to Fort Collins yet, due to the fact that we are having to reapply for medicaid. long story...so to Denver we went. Plus I don;t mind because then I get ot see my mom and dad and also the fact that I REALLY like our pediatrician. She is incredibly nice and cares about what is going on in your life. I LOVE it!

So here are the stats from Weston's checkup:
Weight: 15.32 lbs = >97 percentile
Height: 23 1/2 in = ~75 percentile
Head circumference: 15 1/2 in = ~25 percentile

So the boy is a chunker with some height on him, but has somewhat of a "smaller" head. Which you would NEVER guess by looking at him. He has quite the chubby cheeks!!! Isn't he cute!

This is Weston cooing and "talking"

He has so many thing he can do already! He is cooing ALL the time and smiling. I never remember that kids smile so early. And he is doing it a lot. He can also almost sit up for a quick second due to how many rolls he has. We even put him in Kambria's little high chair and he could sit up it in great! You would think he is ready for solid foods...well not quite yet, thank goodness!

We are so grateful to have him in our family and love to watch him grow and learn everyday. Kambria loves her little brother and is VERY concerned when someone wants to hold him. She will usually yell out "MY WESTON!!" we are learning to share! I couldn't pass up posting this picture! This is Kambria's "cheese" face when we want to take a picture. But I love the hair and how curly it is in this picture and how cute she is.
This is Kambria sitting on the potty. We are attempting the potty training thing...somewhat. She does really good about wanting to sit on the potty, but usually there is no success unless we put her feet in warm water. And then she goes, and she plays in the bowl of water too. But it is a start and we will take it slow.

co springs balloon festival

So in all the quick decisions and quick moving we did in the beginning of Sept., I forgot to post our trip to Colorado Springs to watch Hot air balloons. It was over Labor day weekend. They had them going up all weekend, but we just went on monday.

We left around 5:30am to drive down there so we could see the balloons take off at 7am. We took Kambria and Weston and my sister Tess decided to come with us too. Bless her heart, she sat crunched between the two car seats for an hour and a half.
When we got there, Weston was hungry of course so the rest of them walked to the park while I tried to feed Weston in the car. I then came later, but thank goodness they had not let the balloons go yet due to the little wind they had. So I got to enjoy it as well.

We stayed there for about 2 hours and got a funnel cake to share. Boy was it good.
Then we decided to get back in the car and drive to the park called Garden of the Gods. It is a park where red rocks jut out of the earth. We only had to drive about 10 minutes. We walked around and then eventually ate lunch there. It was a good afternoon with good company! I enjoyed having my sister ere with us, since she left for Idaho a couple days later!

One thing I forgot to mention was that Kambria was VERY upset when the balloons started to take off. I am sure some of it had to do with how tired she was, but she was crying and crying. We tried to tell her that it was OK that they were leaving, but it took her awhile to accept this without being too upset...so here is her sad face.
This is my sister Tess. I think this picture explains her a lot...Love ya little sis!!!
