Magnolia tree...and others

So these pictures were from last weekend while we were at the Parthenon...but I forgot to post about them. Both Bryan's mom and my mom love trees and flowers and so we thought it would be fun to show them a few of the beautiful foliage and tress around here.
This is a magnolia tree...very huge when it is older, but VERY beautiful flowers. This is a semi up close shot of how big the flowers are. They truly are the size of your head! This is the close up shot. They are just amazing! And this is what one of the bulbs look like before it opens up.We have no idea what kind of tree this is, but it has to be related to a lilac tree... The flowers look like lilacs, but they are pink. And Bryan has informed me that there are some that are white and a dark pink also...almost a magenta. This is a close up shot of what the flower looks likeNow this tree is quite funny. We thought this was a sumac, but it is not. It has flat leaves on it like a sumac, but when you get up closeThe flowers are FUZZY!!!!Very cool but very different.
We are enjoying all the new sights and sounds of Tennessee.

My mom is the same way. Loves flowers and trees. Those are very unique trees and flowers.
