More adventures...and the temple

One of our adventures in downtown Chicago was visiting the Hershey's Store. As soon as we walked in the doors the smell was amazing. Eliza thought she was in heaven. I guess the smell of chocolate is wonderful for women, let alone a pregnant woman. This is a picture of the chocolate factory. Basically it is a way for parents to spend money and kids to have some fun. For only a single payment of $30.00 you can operate the machine, keep your cheep plastic yellow hard hat, get a fake employee ID, and your bucket full of Hershey candy from the machine. Let's just say we just watched.

This is Eliza and Bryan with the world's largest Hershey's chocolate bar. (5 lbs)

This the kisses area with the big Hershey's kiss making it obvious this is where you will find the kisses. Bryan really likes all the flowers that are all around downtown. These are pictures of some of the flower beds along Michigan Avenue. I guess Chicago likes their tulips, because they are all over.

So while walking downtown we have come across several interesting sights. One of them is this "copper cowboy." He doesn't talk but makes this interesting whistling noise. And if you put money into his bucket he allows you to come and take a picture with him. He even let this girl, whoever she is, hold his copper rifle. It is a fun thing to see on the streets.
One afternoon we decided to go and find the temple. So we drove out to it. It felt a little weird being on the grounds but not in Sunday dress. We enjoyed walking around the outside and letting Kambria get out of the car and play.
This is the whole view of the Chicago, LDS temple. It is gorgeous...and quite a drive away from downtown Chicago. It is actually in the town of Glenview which is about a half hour drive Northwest of Chicago.
This is the front entrance of the temple. The rock is quite unique. You can kind of get the idea from this picture, but there are blocks of granite put together and they give a very unique and beautiful pattern.
Chicago has the most amazing tulip season here. These are the tulips at the LDS Chicago temple.

Too cute!!! (Sarah...I FINALLY got Kambria to smell the flowers ;o)
This is Kambria smelling the yellow tulips at the temple.
This is Kambria and I on a windy day at the Chicago temple.
This is a tree that Bryan remembers seeing on his mission in Iowa/Illinois. We are not sure what type of tree it is, but I have to say that it has the most amazing flowers. They are REALLY big flowers on a tree. Something we are not used to seeing in Colorado. We like them so much that we had to share them.
