Brother came in...

So Brady arrived on Friday night. It was quite the entertainment on my part at least. The first thing was was to find a parking spot in Downtown Denver on a Friday night. We thought we could park in the train depot, but it would have cost $10 and we would have only been there about an hour. So we decided to try and find street parking, for two cars none the less. So Bryan ended up finding one pretty close and pretty fast...then there was my dad. I would find one and go running to try and stand in it until he got there, only to have someone else pull into it before I could get there. FINALLY I got one and then realized I did not have my phone on me or a way to tell him where I was. So I had to give it up and go and find Bryan who had my phone. I was running EVERYWHERE...and I HATE running. Oh well, it finally worked out and he got a parking spot relatively close to the train station!

Then we saw our stake president with about 25 young me dressed in white shirts and ties. Come to find out that they were the priests from our stake and were going to ride the train to Far west and help the missionaries out there. It was quite a sight to see.

So then Brady gets in and it was fun to see him walking out of a train depot!!! Then he had to go searching for his luggage due to the fact that someone told him to leave it there and he would take care of it...they didn't take care of it and so Brady went searching. Good thing too or he would not have had his luggage...there were not even tags on it!!! That would have been bad.

So then we went to Cold Stone ice cream and visited Tess. It was fun to see her working so hard and good to see her happy. All I want for her is the best...I am glad she enjoys her job and has fun with the people she works with.

So Saturday we went to the parade of homes...there were only 5 to see, but that was PLENTY. Thee houses were priced around 2.6 million and were OUTRAGEOUS!! They were very unrealistic for any "normal" person. There were more TV's in the house than there were rooms and one had a backyard pool with a swim up bar. Fun to see, but not realistic at all. Then we came home and took a nap and then went over to nelson and Leah's house for a BBQ and a swim in their community pool. The BBQ was fun but when it came time to go for a swim it was cloudy. We got in and not but a minute later there was lightening and so we had to get out. Nice swim huh? Too bad. It turned out for the better, but Bryan and I were a little bummed. Maybe we could go for a swim sometime soon. We have not been to a pool in over a year. We went when I was prego, but that was the last time. The lake in Canada was too cold to really play in with Kambria and all she has ever done is the little pool in front of the house. So maybe soon, maybe tonight, we could go. We will see. Everyone else is going to see the Borne Ultimatum on the big screen, but since Bryan has to work early in the morning we decided not go to, plus who would watch Kambria. I even offered to watch Hayden fro Leah and Nelson, but then she went and asked her mother. Which turns out fine, because then they don't have to drive down here, but a little hurtful that she did not want me to watch him. Oh well.

So Sunday we went down close to Colo Springs to see our good friends Nate and Sarah Pettitt and Hannah for her 1st birthday party. They were in town fro a wedding so her dad and his wife threw Hannah a 1st birthday party. We could not stay long due to Bryan having meetings, but it was fun to see how much Hannah has grown up and how cute she is. We wish they lived closer because I think we would hang out a lot a Kambria could have a little regular friend, but not to be for now. So that was our weekend in a nut shell. i cant wait to get up to the cabin and have a good family reunion. I hope no fighting or quarreling goes on!!! We can hope!!!

A glow worm

So the second post of the day... I had to post this. I was looking on my friends web blog and she had this and I thought it was too good to pass on,...so now I am sharing it with all of you...THANKS Jackie!!

Brother in town

So this weekend was supposed to be e driving out to Utah t see some old roommates from Ricks College...that is until I found out that my brother Brady was going to be in town. I did not think he would like it very much if I drove over to Utah when he was in Colorado. So I decided to fore go the trip and wish my roommates a good time without me!!! but PLEASE take some pictures and post them on your blogs!!! Thanks

So the reason my brother is coming is for our 1st annual Dirk Lamprecht family reunion! My mother is going wild with it!!! And it should be a blast. She has a lot off things planned, but the big one that I know of is a family history thing. I know it will incorporate some genealogy too, but she wants each of us, kids and their spouses, to write down dates and things of importance that has happened thus far in our lives. It should be a fun and interesting time. I know she also has hikes and games planned out...with of course some down times for us to just chat and laugh our heads off! I am excited!!!! This family reunion is next week, so I am sure I will say more about it!

the weekend

So this weekend we went up to Fort Collins and spent some time with Bryan's parents. They had not seen Kambria walking...yes this is something I forgot to mention before...Kambria is walking. She started walking the last week before she turned 11 months...which means I can say she was walking at 10 months. This is important for bragging rights when mothers get together and talk about how wonderful THEIR kid is right? Right! Well it truly does not matter when but that she just is...It makes life that more challenging now that she can go so fast. She is quite good now and such a joy to watch. I feel so blessed to have such a happy and healthy little daughter!

So we went to the Dragon boat festival on Saturday with my family and watched the Asian culture have dragon boat races and booths of fun with all sorts of Asian things. Both Tess and I thought of Colin and how much fun he would have had looking at all the Asian things! We do miss him but know he is serving the Lord right now, and doing what he needs to be doing. We miss you Colin! We stayed at the festival for about 2 hours. The rest of my family went home and Bryan and I stayed to get Kambria's name written in cool writing...see photo below!

Bryan was so intrigued by how they did it he wanted to get one done...but i told him I did not want my name, so when I came up with the suggestion of Kambria he said, "Let's do it!!" In the end I am glad we did! We also got to see a contortionist. This picture below is blurry, but she is holding he ENTIRE body with her moth on the stick with her feet bent over her head!!!! It was a fun show to watch!

Then we went to Don and MaryEllen's in Fort Collins. We did not "do" much other than sit around and watch Kambria walk and be cute and played the Train game. I did not like the ending because Bryan ended it too fast. I was a little ticked off...but then we played oh heck, which is another game I do not TRULY care for but was willing to play. Turned out I won the game for the first time EVER!!! So it made up for absolutely LOSING the train game, which Bryan won. So I think we make up a pretty good pair right?...one loses and one wins.

It was a great weekend with some fun times and fun pictures taken! I will have to get some of the ones Don took this weekend. He LOVES to take pictures, especially of Kambria!!!

101th post with some news too!!

So I was looking at my friends' Jackie's post when she hit her 200th post and I knew I was close to my 100th...hen I realized my last post was the official 100th post!! So I have to celebrate that this is my 101th!!! YEAH!!!

So not much is going on. Just life happening and going forward. I am still reading Harry potter since Kambria distracts a lot of my time. I am enjoying it to its fullest though!!! and Bryan is still going strong on his reading too. I am so proud of him. He is even talking about going back and reading the other Potter books! That is an amazing feat for him to even consider!!! Go BRYAN!!!

So we are going out for dinner tonight because my parents are going to go see the Harry Potter movie and will not be home, and Tess is babysitting Hayden so Nelson and Leah can go out on a date too! So we will be off doing something fun. A movie sounds fun, but unless Kambria sleeps, it would be pointless for me to even try taking her to the movie...I would be outside with her the whole time!

AND some important news from Leah and Nelson....the THINK they are having two girls!!! One is for sure a girl, and they think the other one is too, but the baby was not cooperating as much so it is not a for sure!!! We are excited that they get at least one girl! We cant hardly wait!

Off for now...

Harry Potter

So this past Saturday Harry Potter book 7, deathly Hallows, came out. I am proud to say my mother finished reading it in 8 hours on Saturday. I am a LOT slower reader than her and it will take me some time to get through it. But what makes me most happy is the Bryan is reading it. He has never sat down and read a book for fun. He reads slow like me and so that contributes to the reason he does not read very often. But since we listened to book 6 while on our trip to Canada, he got involved in the story line and is actually enjoying reading book 7. He even took it to work today and is going to read on his lunch hour! I am SO proud of him!!!! He may yet enjoy reading!!!

So I have a lot to get done the next couple of days. I am in charge of YW on Tuesday, which happens to be pioneer day, July 24th, so I have to get all the old fashion games set up together. I also have been pushed to get the picture cd done from youth conference done that was over a month ago. I am also wanting to read harry Potter and I have been asked to watch our home teaching families kids on Tuesday too...all 6 of them. I do not know if I can get everything done that I want to get done...and then on top of that, read my emails and blog....yeah what am I doing on the computer if I have so much to do! Well Just saying a little blirp...
Oh before I sign off, Bryan and Tess and I went and tried to take her senior pictures yesterday instead of having my mother spend over 100 dollars for them. I think they turned out pretty good. We are going to do a second session some time soon to see what it looks like with her hair curly.

OK now I am off!

Happy birthday bro!

Just a quick little message to my brother Brady!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Make it a good one!

our trip to canada!

So I want to say lots, but with lack of time and for fear of boring too many people I will keep it short and to the point!

So we left Thursday July 5th around 1:30 pm. We rented a car due to our cars not being THAT reliable...well at least not to drive to Canada and back. So we were in a 2 month old Chevy Impala!!! Man was that nice! We definitely were spoiled! It had remote start and lots of little features that Bryan and I fell in love with. It only had 3050 miles on it when we got it and when we returned it it had 6089 miles!!! We almost doubled the mileage.

So the first day we drove to Sheridan Wyoming and spent the night in an OK motel. Not somewhere I would choose to stay again., but OK for a night. Then we got up and had their continental breakfast, which included waffles!, and then headed out around 7:30 that morning. We listened to Harry Potter and the half blood prince anytime we were in the car and it made the time fly by!!! When we made it to Butte Montana we actually saw Bryan's family driving on the road going into Butte to have lunch when we were heading out of butte from taking lunch. So that was a fun experience...definitely not planned but fun! We made it into Spokane, WA around 6pm that night and stayed at Microtel inn. It was WAY better than the other motel, but the next morning their breakfast was PITIFUL!...so I guess you have to pick and choose what you want; breakfast or a nicer place.

Then we got up and started to pack to leave for the rest of the way for Canada, only to learn that the tent trailer Bryan's family was carrying needed to be worked on otherwise the tire was going to pop because it was rubbing against the trailer. So about an hour later after Bryan and his dad and his brother Scott worked on it, we were off. (On a side note, I just want to say thanks to Bryan for acting in a calm and collected manner when it was discovered rather than flying off the handle and just becoming frustrated. He did very well and even thought of the solution! I was very proud.)

So we got into Canada about 4 pm, after having no problems at the border! YEAH!!!

And the rest of the week was mainly beach time for everyone but Kambria and Bryan and I. I do not do well in the sun, nor do I care for water. We went to the beach one day and Kambria did not like the cold water and I did not like the sun. So for the other days I found other things to do while the rest of them went to the beach and played in the water.

We did laundry, went to town and went and got ice cream, went to good old WALLY'S world, and we even spent a day walking around Kelowna and the wineries there. We were going to take a tour, but we would have had to pay fro Kambria to go and we thought it was a little ridiculous. So we had our own little outside tour. I wish we would have gone, but maybe next time...

We went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in the little theater in Penticton, BC. IT was fun to see the movie, but the theater definitely was crappy!
Then Saturday morning, July 14th, we headed home. We spent the night in Helena Montana due to the Fairbanks' having some friends living there. Although, we spent time with them, we did go to a motel to sleep. Motel 8. It was the best of any hotel/motel we stayed in. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good deal and nice place. They even had a good continental breakfast. WAFFLES!!!

So we made it home the next day about 8pm. Two very long days in a car with a 10 month old! She did very well and we only had to pull over once so I could sit in the back with her and play. other than that she played by herself and slept. I was VERY impressed and happy with the outcome!

So that was our trip in a short nutshell...here are some pics for you all to enjoy.

Fun and YUCKY!

So this weekend I decided to splurge and go out and buy myself a VERY cute dress. The mother of the baby that I watch was wearing a this cute dress on Thursday and so when she came to see Evan at lunch, I asked her where she got it. Turns out from dress barn. So I made Bryan go with me on Friday and I tried on all sorts of dresses. I tried the one on that Lauren had on and I LOVED it!!! It was a little more pricey than I would normal buy a dress for, but since I NEVER wear dresses and since I am earning a little extra money, Bryan agreed with me that I should buy it! It always helps to have your husband agree that you look cute in it and tell you that even though it is expensive, that you should buy it!!! So that is in reference to my title part of fun...

And my title part of yucky is the way that I felt yesterday from about 10am on.

I had to teach in YW and my dad thought that Kambria needed to stay home since she was not feeling well. So my mom stayed home with her. Which turned out to be the best thing.

I went through Sunday school not feeling so well. SO I thought maybe it was because
I was dehydrated. So I tried to be discrete about drinking water since it was fast Sunday. That made me feel a little better. Then came YW. I was not feeling well AT ALL! The girls were freezing cold with the A/C on so I had them face it only on me. I think that is what got me through the lesson. Then we have sacrament meeting last...

I was feeling dizzy and not good. So we stayed through taking the sacrament and went home. It wasn't but two blocks form home and I started feeling VERY nauseous. It turned out I was. I ended up pucking. And I had diarrhea the rest of the day. THANK goodness it was on a Sunday when people were around to take care of Kambria and I did not have to watch Evan.

Today I am feeling SO much better and things are going well...I am now on the count down to CANADA!!!! Thursday we are leaving around 1 or 2 pm and headed to BC Canada for Bryan's family reunion. We will be gone for 10 days...I love going and it should be so much fun to show off Kambria and become reacquainted with all of Bryan's cousin's. So three days and counting!

Your feather?

So I was watching Oprah yesterday for a minute and happened to hear a very sweet statement. Oprah and Nate, her decorating pal, were talking about redoing a room and bringing memories into the room without being painful. He did this for a woman who lost her husband and wanted to remember him, but did not want the painful memories to be there. So Nate framed a single white feather to help her remember her husband. It was something she had told Nate about. I guess this woman thought of her husband every time she saw a feather. It was beautiful and Oprah and Nate then came up with the saying, "What is your feather?"

I thought about it for a while and I would have to say that Kambria and Bryan are my feathers, and I LOVE looking at pictures with them in it. So pictures of them would be my "feather." Also the piano is a big part of Bryan and Kambria loves it too...so maybe a picture of a piano would work too!

So I ask...what would your feather be?

Since there is not much happening here since all I do is feed, change poopy diapers and once and a while play with Kambria in the little "pool," here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

A new job

So while I have a little quiet time I will tell you of my new endeavor...I am babysitting, or nannying...whatever you want to call it. So I have Kambria, 9 months old, who is all over the place trying to learn how to walk and a 3 month old on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Today is the first day, but so far so good. They are the same sleeping schedule and so it has turned out to be a good day.

I have already forgotten how a 3 month old is...how they eat, how they sleep and how they play. I had to go back and look at all the materials again that show you what to do. But it will be good. I will earn a little extra spending cash and Kambria will have a little friend. This way I still get 2 days a week that I only have Kambria and that is good with me!

I am excited and anxious. i will update more later!

Father's Day

So this weekend we spent some wonderful time with Bryan's family and his sister Lisa and her husband Erik and their baby Madalyn. It was fun to see how Madalyn has grown and is a cute baby!!! We had fun playing Frisbee golf with them, watching Dejavu the movie...which is quite scary for me, and playing games with them!

However, I did not get any pictures taken with my camera, but as soon as MaryEllen or Lisa send me some of theirs I will post them...I promise!

So Bryan got croc sandals...but he gets to choose the color so I just gave him a certificate...which he didn't know i was going to do...it was the only surprise I had for him! And he also got some shorts and t-shirts.

That was our fun! Hope you all had an enjoyable day!

Youth Conference

Youth Conference was a blast!! This past Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 7, 8 and 9, Bryan and I had the opportunity to go with the youth of the Alameda and Lakewood on their youth conference as some of the Adult leaders. It was a blast! I met some of the young men that I have never met before and even got hit on by one of them...yes he knew I was married and it was a complete joke, but none-the-less funny!

Thursday we drove up to Vedauwoo, Wyoming and it happened to be BLIZZARDING on the way up. But the youth and leaders decided to rough it out. So we set up camp in the snow and got dinner made. Kambria stayed int he car and played mostly either with myself, Bryan, my mom or Tess. We even set our tent up in the hopes that it would quit snowing...well 8 o'clock pm, Bryan and I decided that Kambria, nor us, would be able to handle such cold weather so we headed to Fort Collins to his parents house, which was about an hour away. Well Bryan did not have his keys on him so we thought we might have to break into the house since his parents and sister Amanda were on their youth conference trip to Nauvoo. We pull up into their driveway about 9:30pm and Bryan looks at my keys and remembers that I have a key to their house too!!! It was a funny thing to both of us that we were going to try and break in and yet we had the key all along!!!

So the next morning, after a VERY LONG night with Kambria waking up every half hour or so, we head back up to camp for breakfast. Everyone was complaining about how cold they were and how they were ready for it to be a NICE day...

Due to the weather, the activity that Bryan and I were in charge of, Geocahing with a GPS, had to be switched to the morning so we could wait for the ground to dry out so we could go repelling and rock climbing. We drove only about 3 minutes away and found our places to bury and find coordinates that the kids made up. Geocaching turned out great and we had a lot of fun finding the "treasures" of life!

So we came back to camp for sub sandwiches and then headed up the mountain for repelling. This was my FAVORITE activity out of all of them. Not because it was fun, but because I made some really good friends with the youth because of it. I am scared of heights!!! And it turned out there were several youth who are also scared of heights. There was one boy named Mark who got the harness on and tried to do it, since I did it and was scared of heights too...but got to the edge and gave up. He then sat in a corner of the rock and started to cry. I felt impressed to go and talk to him. We had a nice long chat about how people are scared of things...ALL people are scared of things...and how his just happened to be apparent at that time. To make a long story short, we worked with the bishop, who is an excellent rock climber and repeller, and eventually got Mark to repel over the mountain! It was an amazing experience both for Mark and for the leaders who were helping him!

Then people went rock climbing and a young girl and I decided not to go and instead talk. That was another building relationship thing for me! it is amazing to me how some of these youth can hold to the rod when their home life is so terrible! they truly amaze me at times!

Then dinner in the gazebo with speakers. There happened to be one "young" leader, who was only 19 or 20 who some of the youth had previously known before. Her name is Lenora and she talked about her living in Kazakhstan and sharing the gospel there. It was a touching talk, even for the youth! There were some guys who were even crying! We also did a little testimony meeting type thing and that was very spiritual too! Yes, I cried then too! It wore me out!

Then off to bed...Kambria and I spent the night in a FREEZING cold car to try and muffle her crying...and I did not turn on the car since it has daytime running lights that you can not turn off..and I did not want to disturb the youth. Bryan spent the night alone in the tent and froze too!!!

Saturday morning Bryan and I were EXHAUSTED from the cold night so we had breakfast, broke down our tent and packed and went back to fort Collins to meet his parents from their long trip and rest! Kambria happened to spill hot chocolate all over me and her and that is when I decided I was a grouch and needed to go home and rest!

It was a fun trip and I am glad I went on it!

Pictures are on their way later...

LUCKY!!!!

So it has been a while since I posted. And SO much has happened. So I will try to relate some of the exciting things going on with our lives.

Thursday May 31 was Don and MaryEllen's anniversary so Bryan and I arranged to have all the kids pitch in money and buy them a gift certificate to the restaurant the Melting Pot. MaryEllen has wanted to go there for some time now, but Don has not wanted to pay the amount of money it costs to go...it IS expensive!!! well at least for us "normal" folk. So we sent that gift certificate in the mail so they would get it on their anniversary...Little did we know that they would be coming down to Denver to try and get tickets to Wicked through the lottery that night. So Bryan and I went down with them and tried to get tickets. MaryEllen was REALLY bummed when we did not get picked. So we ended up going to a restaurant called Cinsetti's instead. It turned out to be a great night and when they got back up to Fort Collins and got there mail they were so excited that they texted us to say thanks!

Since Bryan knew that MaryEllen was quite disappointed and we had nothing else to do, he decided we should go for the lottery again on Friday night! so we did...no we did not get picked, so we ended up going to a restaurant and used a gift certificate that Bryan had had since his birthday back in January! It was REALLY good and we had MAJOR left overs...Thanks Nelson and Leah for suggesting Maggiano's and giving Bryan the certificate. It was AMAZING!

So Saturday morning was the first Saturday in July which means free admission to the DAM(Denver Art Museum). So we decided to go...It was really cool to see the different forms of Art and the architecture. Bryan had fun taking a lot of pictures...well it also happened to be the people's fare in Denver that same day... which we wished we would have had more time to do and see..it was a carnival type thing, but Bryan and I decided to once again try and get Wicked tickets for Don and MaryEllen for the Saturday matinee show...

So we BUSTED our behinds to try and get there, because we kind of got turned around in downtown Denver and trying to walk somewhere in a half an hour with a TON of people in downtown due to the far and free Saturday was almost IMPOSSIBLE...but alas, Bryan made it to the lottery just in time to put his name and mine for me in the drawing...I was a little slower getting there...by about a minute is all...but that matters for the lottery!

Next thing we know my name is called for the tickets!!!!!! Lucky me! So we pay for the tickets, 25 dollars in cash for each ticket, and the next thing I know I tell Bryan that he better listen for his name to be called just in case...and then HIS name was called!!!!! So we pay for two more tickets and then we are SWARMED b y people who are wanting to buy the "extra" two tickets off of us. We got Don and MaryEllen on the phone and told them to hurry down that we got tickets...called my parents to make sure they could watch Kambria and off we went!!!!!

Don and MaryEllen made it with 3 minutes to spare for the opening curtain!!! It was incredible that we got four tickets and none-the-less on the second to last day of Wicked being in Denver. We were on the first two rows with "obstructed" seats...but it was well worth the wait and "running" it took us to get the tickets!!!!

we have decided that we have used all of our luck...so now we are UNLUCKY people. ;o)

weekend fun

So this weekend we decided to get out a pool and let Kambria experience "swimming." Of course she is not really swimming, but just splashing, it is none the less, her first swim suit wearing experience! While everyone one else went and saw the movie Shrek the third, I watched Kambria and Hayden, since Bryan was working and I did not want to go to the movie without him. Plus it gave Nelson and Leah a movie to watch without have=ing to worry about watching Hayden! Bryan and I will probably see the movie this weekend. Otherwise we would have had to pay almost 10 bucks a ticket since it would have been at night ...so we decided to wait until Bryan could go during the day.

So here are some pics of the kids swimming. That is all for now....
